METHODS OF INQUIRIES

The Work of Byron Katie

Kiloby Inquiries

The Work is a powerful yet simple process: four questions and a turnaround. It is a way to identify stressful thoughts and a way to question beliefs, judgments, concepts and expectations that create pain and suffering.

“I made a mistake.” “She should love me.” “Life is hard.”

It is a tool for inquiry, for taking your own mind back, when you answer the questions. It is a meditation. Through your answers, with an open mind and the turnarounds, The Work comes alive in you.

You will learn to live without fear and guilt, reduce anger and reactivity, improve relationships and communication, experience mental clarity, peace and freedom.

You will find out what’s true for you by asking yourself and listening to your answers. They arise from the joining of your mind and heart; it is a meditation. To me “loving what is” means to be with whatever I feel or avoid to feel or see in me and others, including the resistance, and welcome my hatred, envy, judgments and anger, ALL of it. To see if spiritual beliefs are used to bypass what is. The Work is a way to discover peace, love, joy and freedom right where I am. Through my answers spontaneous change, transformation and action can happen.

The Kiloby Inquiries (KI) give us tools to examine and release deficiency stories, anxieties and compulsions that cause human suffering. By allowing all emotions and sensations to be as they are and seeing through the words and images of the stories we give ourselves a chance to live our lives without being identified with thoughts, emotions and sensations. The Kiloby Inquiries are a simple and cutting-edge tools to look into our own direct experience and release identities, fears and addictions.

By allowing everything to be here exactly as it is, even the resistance towards it, a magical process unfolds of being present and the charge of identity or story loses its grip. There is openness and tenderness, an expansiveness that encompasses all the diverse appearances: the comfort and the discomfort, the seemingly opposing forces of black and white and all the rainbow colors in between – a paradox. There was never anything wrong in the first place.

Seeing through the appearances of all forms of life allows me to be with them and cherish them all. In that I feel more love, peace and freedom.

EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR YOU, NOT TO YOU.

-BYRON KATIE

EVERYTHING SAID, DONE AND EXPERIENCED IS A LIGHT, TRANSPARENT, TEMPORARY LANDING LIKE A MIRAGE. NOTHING IS SOUGHT AFTER, YET NOTHING IS AVOIDED.
